The vehicles have been modified at Ashalls of Manchester and have been tested to Department of Transport standard.
One of the most strenuous tests for a modification of this type is the tilt test.
- This involves loading each of the 70 seats plus the driver’s seat with the weight of an average adult
- The vehicle is then tilted to a legally required angle to either side to ensure the coach is stable and safe to travel on the road.
- Only then, is the vehicle issued with its certificate to travel on the road.
